Тематика видеоинтервью – новые методики и подходы в изучении английского языка, интересные факты и практические советы по улучшению произношения и увеличению словарного запаса.
Тема сегодняшнего интервью – подготовка и сдача языкового экзамена IELTS. Интервью дает старший преподаватель British Council Марианна Исаенко.
IELTS – самый популярный британский языковой экзамен в мире. Сдача IELTS интересна тем кандидатам, которые хотели бы учиться либо работать в англоязычной среде.
IELTS имеет два модуля: General English и Academic English. Модуль Academic English рассчитан в первую очередь на людей, которые планируют получить высшее образование или профессиональную квалификацию за рубежом.
Модуль General English несколько проще. Его сдают люди, желающие подтвердить свое знание английского, получив общепризнанную квалификацию, или эмигрировать в англоязычные страны.
Экзамен состоит из 4 частей: Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing. Результаты теста оцениваются от 1 до 9 баллов в зависимости от уровня знаний. Наиболее "востребованными" являются 6,5-7 баллов, ведь это тот языковой минимум, который требуют западные университеты.
Срок действия сертификата IELTS ограничен и составляет 2 года. После этого нужно повторно подтверждать свои знания.

Hello everybody. My name is Marianna and I"ve been working at British Council for one year approximately.
English is very important nowadays for studies and work and to prove your level of knowledge you need to have a certificate. There are different exams which you can take but I want to tell you about IELTS.
There are two modules: General and Academic. If you want to go abroad and study at the university then you need to have Academic IELTS and if you want to live abroad or to work abroad then you need to have General IELTS.
IELTS exam consists of four parts which is: reading, listening, speaking and writing. To be successful at reading you need to read lots of English articles because at the exam you will get an article and you need to understand the specific information in this article. You have to have knowledge of the specific words which are used in English articles.
In writing part you will have two tasks which is the essay and the description of a graph. So you need to have the specific skills for that and you need to practice writing a lot before the exam itself.
Then speaking – you will have 15 minutes of conversation with a British Council examiner. You will have to be able to talk on different topics. You"ll have to practice a lot of speaking before the exam.
To prepare for a listening part you will have to watch lots of English movies and to listen to authentic dialogues and texts because in the exam itself you will get only one chance to listen to the recording and to mark the correct answer. You can prepare for this exam yourself or you can come to our courses.
